Practice - Defining Email Domains

Note: This practice example requires a valid key file. Substitute your domain name if you want to use this example.

To define an email domain

1. Select the Configure Sever tab.
2. Select the System tab.
3. Enter “zixvpm.zixcustomer.com” in the Add field.

This adds the zixcustomer.com email domain to the list of domains.

4. Click Add.
5. Click for the zixvpm.zixcustomer.com domain in the table.

The ZixVPM Domain Name dialog displays.

6. Locate the file listed in the Key File area in either C:\Windows\Application Data\ZixIt\<username>\ or C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Zixit\. Enter this file name and location in the Key File field.
7. Type the passphrase for this key file into the Password field.

The passphrase is the string of characters that you specified when you created the gateway key file in the ZixSignature Manager.

8. Enter zixcustomer.com in the Mail Host field.
9. Click Apply.

The Status flag for zixvpm.zixcustomer.com in the ZixGateway Domains area should now be green and display has key file.
